  1. Great quality! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 30th Jul 2020

Fencing Post is really great with customer service! Very knowledgeable and helpful with things to consider (expertise, age, build, recreational or competitive status of Fencer Etc). Things I would have never even considered! My 13 yr old son is VERY happy with all his Fencing clothes and gear from Fencing Post! He says the Epee is great quality as far as blade retaining straightness. They are lightening fast to ship too! (My son is 13 Yrs, 5’ 7”, 120lbs. & a beginning Fencer of 7 months).

  2. A Good Epee 5 Star Review

I purchased this epee with the exact specifications of: an Allstar Ultralight Aluminum Guard, a Vinyl guard pad, a Palmel pommel, and the Edge French grip. I am primarily a French grip epeeist. I like this epee. The Palmel is in my opinion the best French grip pommel as it is one of the three lightest all of which are from the Fencing post with the Palmel having a weight of 18 grams additionally the shape is by far the most comfortable for pommeling/posting. The Edge French grip is the most comfortable, stable and the best traction French grip I have encountered. I have little to say about the guard pad which is fairly standard. As to the guard I have to say that when choosing a guard there is a certain trade off of weight vs durability, so I will simply say that this is up to a matter of personal choice. Lastly about the blade Viniti’s have a reputation for being both durable and heavy, the reputation for being durable which is well deserved as I have never had to bend my epee back even after 5 months of frequent usage. The Viniti blade seems to be well balanced. As to the weight I cannot tell because my epee may be the second lightest in my area because everyone else in my area save one instructor has metal pommels, which if I recall correctly are usually 150 grams. Now I have to warn against buying the screw less tips because I initially bought this epee and a pistol grip with the screw less tips and they were both jammed in a couple of weeks. The Fencing Post replaced my tips with standard German tips and I have not had problems since then. I can recommend my current setup without the screw less tips to any French grip epeeists out there. Because of the excellent customer service I am giving this epee 5 out of 5 stars with the warning not to pick screw less tips.
