Very Comfortable Glove - Not For Fencing

When I first put this glove on I could not believe how comfortable and well fitted it was. I can not remember ever having a fencing glove that was lined before.

Now I know why. After using the glove, it became very apparent that that oh-so-comfortable lining is a fencing failure.

Ever wear socks on your feet in shoes that are too big? Most likely your feet will just slide around inside the shoe. If you are in a clown costume this is not a problem. If it is your hand inside a fencing glove - it is a problem. You see - I just could not get a good grip on my saber. My thumb was just sliding around inside of the glove. Back and forth - just rolling off the handle. Standing on guard - it works fine. Use any amount of force cutting or parrying - thumbs slides off too a side. The glove sticks to the grip - like a champ! But my thumb just slid all over the inside of the glove and could never get a grip. You would be amazed how much a 1/4 inch movement of your thumb, at the wrong time, makes.
