If your kid is still growing and most are, this is a good step up from the linea line/alliance fencing /gladius fencing gear. The front of the jacket is a bit thicker than the cheaper uniforms. It is rated at 350N but seems sturdy. The cuffs and neck line seem to be of good quality. For about 15-20 dollars more you are getting I believe a better product. Fit is standard all start, I would mate it with the allstart lame which I find to be a good standard and usual good quality.
