It works well as a hit indicator and is great for practice bouts.I wish the two sounds were a bit different though. One sound is a long beep, while the other is a bunch of short beeps but they have the exact same tone. As a result it can be hard to determine if there were two touches or one.

I bought Favero FTT1 to use primarily as a "hit indicator." It bypasses the body cord that is attached to the weapon and can be clipped to one's garment. It has the current FIE lockout timing for Epee and Foil and it works flawlessly for Epee. For foil, it cannot differentiate between on- and off-target hits (understandably so). It also has different sounds to signal a hit of which even the dimmest is loud enough. The device, however, can be used as a body cord or weapon tester (for all three weapons) through very clear and easy-to-follow procedures. Even for those who know enough armory to check their weapons on a fly, the testing features FTT1 provides and the way they are implemented are still quite impressive. I am very happy with this purchase. It's all I wanted and more.

As a hit recorder it allows us to play in the reduced space of our club as well as outdoors for a free of cables experience. As a tester it allows me to check and wire my weapons very easily. The volume of this device is pretty good, although we use to wear it at neck height in places with heavy noise.
