This guard is light and strong. It's not the strongest guard (it is weaker than Linea Hungarian style, for example) but it is in my opinion the best sabre guard in form of the right balance of weight, strength and shape. One note to those who are fans of the flare of Hungarian style guards. This guard and Uhlmann's do not have the Hungarian shape (with the slight pointy curve at the top).
