Uhlmann "Champion" 3 Weapon Glove
Posted by Alex Bassett on 26th Jun 2024
Glove material is decent, the texture of the hand works well with most grip materials and presents no difficulty in maintaining grip.
Padding on the knuckle and mid finger areas is thin but functional, I would have preferred a little more, as the current amount still offers some impedance to movement without having a cushier fit like a thicker foam
Stitching is rather poor on the Velcro wrist strap, and the hole location is not ideal for wire placement for someone who uses French grips. As well, the pinky finger is shorter than on other gloves of my same fitting size, which made me cramp until I broke it in.
Overall, it gets the job done but is not on my short list when I need to replace it, as I don't really like it. I personally am more partial to the Linea Tan 3 weapon, which has better wire placement, Velcro, and padding in my opinion.

Great sensitivity and durability. I have worn these for at least 10 years.

Fits great and is comfortable, with padding on the back.

The Uhlman Champion is the best glove I've ever worn. The material and seams are substantial, but the extra padding at the key wear points is what makes this the glove to own.
I had another new glove from a major brand that was worn through in just one tournament. I asked for a replacement and that one wore out in a week of practice bouts and lessons.
Nope, it is Uhlmann for me from now on.
