I was looking uniforms (jacket, knickers, plasteron) for my kids. I wanted to pay a little more for stretchable material since cotton can get a little uncomfortable and affect performance. But, I wanted to pay as little as possible since my kids are probably going to outgrow them within a year or two.
Comparing various websites, I narrowed down my choices to Absolute Fencing's Stretch Line vs Fencing Post's Linea Stretch.
COST. Fencing Post stuff is a little less but due to their $20 shipping and handling, the cost comes to about the same.
PERFORMANCE. I ended up purchasing Fencing Post's Linea line. The uniform I received was really great. I got rid of the Linea labels because I think they look kinda' ugly but besides that, they are made really well and look great.
I don't know whether Fencing Post's is truly better or not than Absolute's since I only purchased the Linea line. But, according to fencers on Reddit, they stated that Linea's line is lighter than Absolute's. This means that Absolute's stuff is heavier but probably provides more protection. Given that this is for middle-school kids so they can't really hurt each other, I decided that getting a lighter uniform is probably a better choice.
*If you want to pay up for the top-of-the-line stuff and want to know which brand to get, the following is what Reddit users stated. They stated that the top line for all of the brands are the same in quality - they provide more stretchable material while being lighter than cheaper uniform. They are insanely expensive.
The only major difference is the fit. So, the best thing to do is to go to a national tournament where every vendor sell their uniforms. Try each brand's line and see which fits best.
Hope this helps!

Fencing Post is really great with customer service! Very knowledgeable and helpful with things to consider (expertise, age, build, recreational or competitive status of Fencer Etc). Things I would have never even considered! My 13 yr old son is VERY happy with all his Fencing clothes and gear from Fencing Post! He says they are so comfortable, great fitting and give great protection that he never notices ANY discomfort or has any worry whatsoever! Highly recommend Fencing Post for all your Fencing needs! Lightening quick to ship too!

The velcro and clip strap works to keep it in place. It protects very well for the fabric and price.

Just fenced in my first competition with this under arm protector. It was fabulous. I couldn't even tell it was there. Definitely a must buy, and I got it on sale so, there's that!
